50% Off San Antonio Aquarium Annual Memberships

Did everyone hear the exciting news?  San Antonio is finally getting its own full-size aquarium!

The San Antonio Aquarium is scheduled to open on Bandera Road in December 2014, and right now you can score 50% off annual membership packages!

I love aquariums, so I bought my half-price annual passes last night.  Here are the tiers to choose from:

  • Single Annual Membership -- on sale for $29.98 (normally $59.95.)
  • Dual Annual Membership -- on sale for $54.98 (normally $109.95.)
  • Family Annual Membership -- on sale for $69.98 (normally $139.95.)  This package includes two named adults and up to three children or grandchildren under 18.
  • Ultimate Family Membership -- on sale for $99.98 (normally $199.95.)  This package includes two named adults, with unlimited children or grandchildren under 18, plus four free guest passes!
All annual memberships include unlimited visits for the year to both the San Antonio Aquarium and its two sister aquariums in Austin, Tx and Portland, Oregon.  Plus, all kids ages 2 and under get in free -- and if you are a foster parent, your foster kids receive free admission as well.

Just for comparison, day tickets to the aquarium cost $11.95 per child ages 2-11, and $16.95 each for adults and kids ages 12 and up.

So for a family of four, you could basically pay $57.80 for one day at the aquarium (assuming both kids are under 12), or upgrade for a year's pass for an additional $12.18.

Plus, members also receive early access to the aquarium on weekends and holidays, plus discounted guest tickets and 10% off gift shop purchases!

You can even plan ahead for 2015 birthday parties and receive 50% off those packages right now as well.  Click here for more info.

  1. Do your homework people. The founders of this and other aquariums they started have been convicted of illegally purchasing and keeping of marine life.http://www.austinchronicle.com/gyrobase/m/Issue?oid=1486271
