Thanksgiving Freebies 2013: Free Turkey For Troops

Well, this is one of the more remarkable freebie offers I've heard of in quite awhile -- free turkeys are available for active duty military personnel, including guards and reservists, this Thanksgiving!

Toyota of Boerne has teamed up with Clear Channel and Walmart to give away free turkeys to military service members on Friday, November 22 from 9am to 6pm.

The first 2000 military personnel to show up at Toyota of Boerne with their valid military ID will score a free Thanksgiving turkey!  Limit one per household.

Now, I would obviously expect this deal to be incredibly popular, so I recommend getting over to the Toyota dealership earlier in the day rather than later.

It does have to be the military personnel to claim the free turkey -- it does not look like a spouse or dependent can pick up on his or her behalf.

  1. Hmmm... Perhaps the military personal clause is why Hearts Apart is giving a Turkey away to each deployed family who come to the event tomorrow. There sure isn't a way for me to get my husband to Boerne for this one.

  2. There is no way my husband can leave his job at Lackland and take a drive to Boerne. I appreciate their efforts but one of the great things about military personnel is....... they work, they rarely take leave, and they work long hours. So, this won't be helpful.

  3. Unfortunately, I can't leave my duty station to drive to Boerne. I'm a little disappointed to find my spouse can't go and pick it up for me. Military members can't just 'up and leave' for a long lunch and abandon their duty station. Bummer, I was hopeful.

  4. It does NOT have to only be the military personnel to claim the free turkey - Military spouses or dependents with a valid ID can also pick up the turkey.
